This role is for a Senior GTM Automation & Systems Manager at Gong, focusing on building and maintaining the technical systems and operational engine for marketing and lifecycle programs. The role involves translating GTM strategy into reliable automation, managing the marketing contact database, integrating data across the GTM stack, and designing AI-powered workflows using automation tools. What you'd actually do

  1. Build and maintain Gong’s marketing programs automation infrastructure in Marketo — including audience segments, smart campaigns, program logic, behavioral triggers, lead routing, and suppression rules
  2. Translate audience strategy and engagement frameworks into reliable, scalable email automation: multi-step nurture flows, trigger sequences, and lifecycle programs that drive MQL volume and MQL-to-opportunity conversion
  3. Audit and rebuild Gong’s existing Marketo nurture portfolio, turning off underperforming programs and architecting net-new flows for priority segments including engaged non-MQLs, closed-lost prospects, and MQL-to-S0 conversion tracks
  4. Manage Gong’s marketable contact database: segmentation accuracy, enrichment workflows, data hygiene, compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR), and overall database health — ensuring the right contacts are reachable and properly classified at all times
  5. Design and implement AI-powered workflows using tools like n8n, Make, Zapier, Clay, and similar platforms to automate data enrichment, audience activation, and campaign operations at scale

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing automation, marketing operations, or a closely related technical marketing role within B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
  • Expert-level Marketo experience: program architecture, lifecycle and lead scoring, smart campaign logic, deliverability, and lead routing in partnership with Salesforce.
  • Strong hands-on experience with workflow automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier, Workato, LeanData, Cargo) and ideally Clay or comparable enrichment + AI + activation platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and/or JSON for data manipulation, list transformation, light API work, and debugging integrations.
  • AI-first work style: actively uses AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Gemini) to accelerate building, QA, and optimization. AI is how you work, not a feature you adopted.
  • Proven experience querying and optimizating a B2B contact database at scale: enrichment strategy, segmentation, hygiene automation, and compliance.
  • Working understanding of GTM concepts: TAM, ICP, persona development, and buying-stage logic. Can translate strategy into program logic.
  • Experience integrating signal/intent data (6sense, Demandbase, ZoomInfo, UserGems) into lifecycle and email programs.
  • Background where marketing and sales were tightly coordinated (Marketo + Salesforce + Salesloft / Outreach / Gong Engage).
  • Strong systems thinking, QA rigor, and ability to document technical logic clearly for cross-functional partners.
