Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (gnc) Engineer - Navigation and Estimation- Air Dominance & Strike

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Air Dominance & Strike : Air Dominance & Strike Vehicle Software : Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC)

The Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer will lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of navigation systems for autonomous aerospace vehicles, including subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic systems. This role involves integrating advanced sensor fusion algorithms, developing navigation filters (like Extended Kalman filters), and ensuring navigation performance in complex environments. The position requires expertise in inertial navigation, GNSS, and real-time systems, with a focus on defense technology.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead navigation system design for one or more Anduril products, cradle-to-grave ownership.
  2. Analyze and help develop mission requirements and constraints across the Anduril product portfolio to determine optimal navigation system architecture.
  3. Support and drive the evaluation and integration of advanced alternative navigation aiding sources (prepare, support, and conduct lab, motion, and flight tests).
  4. Support flight testing to measure & validate navigation performance relative to mission requirements and troubleshoot testing and operational anomalies.
  5. Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to validate algorithm and navigation stack accuracy, robustness, and performance.

Skills
