This role focuses on supporting production environments for Expedia's travel partnerships and advertising division, specifically for hotels. The Senior Hotel Partner Solutions Specialist will lead investigations into high-impact incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. Responsibilities include analyzing system behavior, partnering with engineering and product teams to improve reliability and monitoring, and identifying automation opportunities. The role also involves acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point for junior team members, and participating in on-call support.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead investigations into high-impact incidents and recurring operational issues, perform structured root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  2. Analyze system behavior, logs, metrics, and data to identify trends, validate hypotheses, and resolve complex production issues in distributed, high-availability environments.
  3. Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to implement practical, sustainable solutions that improve reliability, monitoring, and operational performance.
  4. Identify and implement opportunities for automation, tool enhancements, and improvements to operational standards, processes, and support resources.
  5. Communicate clearly during incidents, escalations, and post-incident reviews, including preparing concise summaries and investigation reports.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical discipline or related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting production or operational environments, with demonstrated experience leading investigations and delivering measurable improvements.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex issues in distributed, high-availability environments.
  • Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Kibana, or similar platforms, along with SQL for investigation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with API architectures such as GraphQL, cloud and infrastructure concepts, SQL literate, and understanding testing principles, and at least one scripting or programming language.
  • Communicate clearly, adapt detail to your audience, and approach problem-solving with a systems perspective that considers broader operational impact.
