Senior HR Business Partner for Wiz, a fast-growing cloud security company. This role will support employees in Japan and the broader APJ region, focusing on HR operations, manager coaching, program execution, and talent management. Requires 10 years of HR experience, fluency in Japanese and English, and deep knowledge of Japan labor law.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as the go-to HR resource for Japan while assisting the Principal HRBP in delivering HR services across the APJ region.
  2. Guide and coach people managers on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness to build high-performing teams.
  3. Support generalist activities, including collaborating with (but not owning) HR Ops and payroll to ensure compliance and accuracy for the Japan workforce.
  4. Facilitate the implementation of core HR programs (Annual Reviews, Total Rewards, Engagement Surveys) within your client groups.
  5. Help build and scale HR processes from the ground up in Japan, ensuring global policies are localised and compliant with labour laws.

Skills

Required

  • 10 years total of HR experience with 5+ years in a Senior HRBP (or demonstrable equivalent), ideally within a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Deep knowledge of Japan labor law and HR practices is essential; prior experience supporting broader APJ territories is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable "rolling up your sleeves" to help handle HR Ops and payroll-related matters alongside higher-level business partnering.
  • Experience supporting Director+ level leadership and the ability to influence mid-to-senior management.
  • Proven ability to work in a changing environment where processes are still being defined and built.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on problem-solving and employee experience.
  • Ability to use data to tell a story and propose methods for continuous improvement.
