This role is responsible for data stewardship within defined HR domains, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise standards. It involves understanding HR business processes and translating them into data definitions and requirements to support analytics and data products. The Senior HR Data Steward partners with HR product teams, Data Platform teams, and Data Quality/Governance partners.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own data stewardship for one or more defined HR domains, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise standards
  2. Develop deep understanding of HR business processes, policies, and workflows within assigned domains, using that knowledge to identify and articulate data needs
  3. Proactively identify implicit or emerging data needs embedded within HR workflows, product designs, and decision points, even when no explicit data request exists
  4. Translate complex business problems into clear, actionable data definitions and stewardship requirements that support analytics, data products, and digital HR experiences
  5. Serve as the data steward embedded within HR product squad of assigned HR domain area, partnering closely with product owners, designers, and engineers throughout discovery and delivery

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, Data, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience working at the intersection of HR business domains, data, and digital or analytics enablement
  • Demonstrated experience stewarding business data within defined domains, including maintaining consistent definitions and supporting analytics and product needs
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and operating models, with the ability to translate business reality into data requirements
  • Proven ability to identify and frame data needs embedded within workflows and experiences, not just respond to explicit requests
  • Experience working closely with product teams, analytics teams, or data platform teams in a matrixed environment
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts in business terms
