Senior I/o Specifications Architect

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Santa Clara, CA +2

This role focuses on architecting and developing chip requirements for industry-standard I/O interfaces (PCIe, CXL, UCIe), engaging with standards bodies, and collaborating with internal teams to define interconnect strategies for future AI and graphics systems. It requires deep knowledge of I/O technologies and system architecture.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop ECNs addressing requirements for new capabilities and steer them through industry standards organizations such as PCIe, CXL, and UCIe
  2. Drive internal architecture of our designs for adoption of features and capabilities in industry specifications
  3. Engage with customers and partner companies to develop interconnect strategies and understand requirements for our future AI and graphics systems
  4. Work across architecture, software, hardware design, and verification teams to align functionality, compliance, and roadmaps
  5. Conduct deep-dive analysis into PCIe performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks , improving data throughput, and analyzing complex memory ordering requirements to ensure data consistency and efficiency
