Senior Industrial Engineer

Johnson & Johnson Johnson & Johnson · Pharma · Santa Clara, CA +1

Senior Industrial Engineer at Johnson & Johnson in Santa Clara, CA, focused on leading and implementing manufacturing systems, process improvement, and capacity/layout design for electro-mechanical and robotic medical device assembly. The role involves process design and validation, labor/capacity modeling, optimization, cost reduction, and mentoring junior engineers, with a strong emphasis on Lean, Six Sigma, and medical device regulatory compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end industrial engineering activities for NPI and sustaining product lines, including process design, factory/line layout, work cell design, and production flow.
  2. Develop takt time, cycle time, and staffing models; create labor standards and line balancing to meet production volume and quality targets.
  3. Design and qualify manufacturing and test processes, fixtures, tooling, and automation concepts in collaboration with manufacturing and design engineering.
  4. Create and implement process characterization, design of experiments (DOE), process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and test method validation (TMV) protocols and reports.
  5. Drive continuous improvement projects (cost, quality, lead time) using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies; quantify and realize cost and productivity benefits.
