Senior Interconnect Failure Analysis Hardware Engineer

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Yokneam, Israel

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to lead investigations of complex hardware systems, including electro-optic modules and high-speed electrical interfaces, for their interconnect products. The role involves hands-on laboratory debugging, root cause analysis across electrical, optical, and system domains, and collaboration with internal engineering teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead failure analysis investigations on interconnect products including optical modules, AOCs, and high-speed hardware platforms.
  2. Review architectural design aspects (electrical, optical, mechanical, process, and firmware) to identify potential design or integration issues.
  3. Design, develop, and execute debug and validation test plans to identify root cause of hardware failures in production or customer-returned units.
  4. Perform hands-on electrical and optical debugging using laboratory equipment and automated test systems.
  5. Correlate electrical, optical, and system-level measurements to identify failure signatures.

Skills

  • Experience working with high-speed hardware or communication systems
  • Hands-on experience reading schematics and using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, pattern generators, and signal analysis tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to lead complex root cause investigations
  • Ability to work independently, plan investigations, and drive tasks to completion
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with electro-optic systems
  • Familiarity with high-speed signaling technologies
  • Experience working with optical lab equipment
  • Python scripting for test automation or data analysis
