Job Summary
Caterpillar is seeking a Senior IT Analyst Applications (SAP Sales and Distribution - Functional Consultant) to join OTC-Machine Orders SAP&CMOPS - Bangalore -Global Finance Services Division.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore PSN, Whitefield office
** What You Will Do:**
Caterpillar is seeking an experienced SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Lead Functional Analyst to join our Order to Cash (OTC) team. This individual will provide work closely with SAP SD/OTC Architects, Solution Leads, and Strategic Integration partners to help lead successful implementations of technical solutions and major enterprise deployments to support our machine orders business. The ideal candidate will be able to showcase their concentrated and progressive experience specifically in SAP SD module and pricing procedures.
- Independently deliver SAP Sales & Distribution (SD)/Order to Cash (OTC) solutions aligned with our enterprise template and business objectives.
- Offer advanced level technical guidance to SAP SD/OTC support teams and integration partners.
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and mentor junior functional team members with their projects.
- Analyze, document, and revise business processes and system logic as needed.
- Provide recommendations on order and pricing enhancements to meet business requirements.
- Create test plans to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing and script sign-off for key releases.
- Design and configure pricing procedures, including condition tables and types.
- Demonstrate expertise in OTC processes and related business functions.
- Advanced problem-solving and excelling in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office

- Technology Advising: Extensive knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for SAP Sales & Distribution module.
- Application Design, Architecture: Expert knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
- Requirements Analysis: Expert knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- System and Technology Integration: Expert knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
- Systems Software Infrastructure: Extensive knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Extensive knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of SAP Sales & Distribution Module specific experience.
- Progressive experience and mastery of the full life cycle of manufactured product orders (from order creation to invoicing).
- Experience with Sales Variant Configuration used for manufacturing products in relation to impact on sales order, pricing, invoicing, and accounting processes
- Strong knowledge of SAP SD concepts, including invoices, pricing procedures, sales order conversions, loan processes, system configuration (SPRO), EDI, and other integration methods.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar dealer network, facilities, product structure, and machine ordering landscape and logistics
- Ability to read and understand ABAP language.

Level Extensive Experience: • Analyzes system requirements and translates them into detailed design specifications. • Designs complex application architectures that meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements. • Evaluates and selects appropriate pattern, components, technologies, and tools for application development; integrates them with technical design. • Leads application design reviews and walkthroughs to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solution. • Troubleshoots complex design issues and provides innovative solutions. • Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications. Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design). Level Working Knowledge: • Tracks problems associated with the quality and effectiveness of application software. • Researches the benefits and drawbacks of an organization's application software. • Drafts application software usage for the department's needs. • Provides instant support for end users of application software. • Implements a specific application software under the supervision of management.
