Upstart is an AI lending marketplace that uses AI to help millions of customers access credit. The Senior Lifecycle Manager, Emerging Markets will own and scale lifecycle marketing for new and growing products, focusing on customer acquisition and engagement across the full customer journey. This role involves designing and optimizing multi-channel customer journeys, leveraging data analysis and experimentation to drive growth and retention.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own lifecycle strategy and execution across the full customer journey, including cross-sell, activation, retention, re-engagement, and churn winback
  2. Drive growth for Cash Line through mobile-first lifecycle programs, leveraging push notifications, in-app messaging, email, and SMS
  3. Design and optimize multi-channel journeys that improve key metrics such as conversion, engagement, retention, and revenue
  4. Define detailed campaign requirements, including audience segmentation, trigger logic, and channel orchestration, in partnership with Product and Engineering
  5. Build and execute a hypothesis-driven experimentation roadmap across lifecycle stages, and translate results into actionable insights

Skills

Required

  • 6-8+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, or retention marketing roles
  • Hands-on experience building and executing lifecycle campaigns using a marketing automation platform (e.g., Iterable, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B or multivariate tests, including defining success metrics and interpreting results
  • Proficiency in data analysis using spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets) and familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Model

Nice to have

  • Experience managing lifecycle marketing across multiple stages of the customer journey (e.g., acquisition, activation, retention, winback)
  • Experience designing lifecycle strategies for mobile app experiences, including push notifications and in-app messaging
  • Knowledge of customer data platforms (CDPs) and event-driven marketing systems, we use Hightouch
  • Ability to translate complex datasets into clear insights that inform marketing strategy
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Creative teams on campaign execution
