Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting Operations

Anthropic Anthropic · AI Frontier · San Francisco, CA · Finance

This role is for a Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting Operations at Anthropic. The primary focus is on leading a team, managing close operations, developing technical accounting policies, and improving processes through automation, including the use of AI tools like Claude. The role involves building accounting infrastructure from scratch in a high-growth environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own a portfolio of accounts through month-end and quarter-end close — including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance commentary
  2. Drive close acceleration by identifying bottlenecks and implementing process changes that reduce cycle time without sacrificing accuracy
  3. Ensure all close deliverables are consistently audit-ready, with clear documentation of positions and supporting evidence
  4. Oversee SOX control preparation and execution across your accounts; review control evidence and own timely remediation of any gaps
  5. Write, own, and maintain technical accounting policies and SOPs across your domain — drafting, evolving, and operationalising them as the business changes
