Engineering management position responsible for a hardware development engineering group/team.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Center Engineering, reporting to the Regional Director of Data Centre Engineering. As our Senior Manager, you would have management responsibility for our team of Data Center regional engineers supporting the EMEA region. You'll oversee engineering DC technical evaluations, tenant improvement activties and provide ongoing support to facilities engineering and operational teams. You will lead a team of electrical and mechanical engineers to drive the evolution of OCI's facility infrastructure design and support our rapid growth. A crucial part of this role will be focused on driving improvement and efficiency in our engineering support model.
- Lead a team supporting site technical evaluations and whitespace fit out of data centres for Oracle Cloud.
- Work with other engineering managers in cross functional efforts across the Oracle Data Center Engineering organization.
- Develop and lead updates to the design requirements, product evaluation and support optimal facility utilization.
- Provide mission critical engineering reviews in conjunction with our colo partners, PMs and Operations teams to support continued growth and efficiency of our DC spaces.
- Provide and analyze energy efficient solutions to minimize losses.
- Travel to data center sites for building evaluations, and pre-handover engineering review, as required (15% - 25% travel).
- Respond on an as-needed basis to data centre build related emergencies.
- Conduct weekly meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and assist in addressing concerns and removing roadblocks.
- Help develop and guide career path plans for direct reports.
- Possess a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background to support regional team
