The Senior Manager of Packaging Engineering Operations at Anduril Industries will lead strategies for packaging optimization and compliance within the supply chain team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining packaging solutions that protect high-value technology during transport, storage, and deployment, while also driving cost reduction and quality improvement. Responsibilities include managing packaging operations, designing internal packaging, influencing technical design specs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards. The role also involves leading a team and utilizing ERP/WMS systems for inventory tracking and process optimization.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute strategies for packaging operations and engineering, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience
  2. Partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to design packaging that protects high-value and sensitive technology during transport, storage, and deployment
  3. Implement End-to-End packaging management measures and audits to ensure accuracy and to mitigate packaging issues. This includes the development & improvement of critical metrics
  4. Lead the design of internal packaging solutions for delivering and presenting parts to the production line and work with the Material Flow Engineering and Industrial Engineering teams on the implementation
  5. Partner with the Engineering team, Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturers to influence technical design specs and customize product and manufacturing requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management of complex hardware packaging and/or sourcing engineering
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing a team of direct reports
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or materials engineering
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or related industry
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and material planning strategies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in using software systems and tools
  • Solid understanding of lean principles and experience in implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance standards related to packaging compliance and material management activities
