This role is for a Senior Manager, Payroll at Datadog, responsible for overseeing accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing across the US, Canada, and LATAM. The position requires strong technical payroll expertise, project management skills, and leadership experience, with a focus on wage and tax reporting, payroll transformation, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The role also involves partnering with various internal teams (Legal, HR, Finance, Equity, HRIS, Benefits) and managing vendor relationships, while improving internal controls for SOX compliance and leveraging technology, including AI, for efficiency.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage payroll resources and vendors across the U.S., Canada and LATAM (Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia) countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of end to end payroll with local regulations
  2. Manage wage and tax reporting, including quarterly and annual filings (e.g., W-2s, and applicable LATAM reporting requirements)
  3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, as well as country-specific regulations across LATAM
  4. Partner with Legal, HR, and Finance to stay ahead of regulatory changes and implement necessary updates
  5. Improve internal controls to satisfy SOX auditing requirements while simultaneously creating efficiencies by leveraging Workday and AI technology.

Skills

Required

  • Workday HRIS and payroll module experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal controls, quarter and year end wage and tax balancing
  • Extensive knowledge of equity compensation processing and reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, VLookups, conditional formatting, if-and formulas
  • Ability to interpret and communicate policies, procedures and programs
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
