Senior Manager, People Compliance to design, execute, and improve global People Compliance programs. This role leads cross-functional initiatives, assesses regulatory impacts, and operationalizes compliant, scalable people processes aligned with OpenAI’s goals. Partner closely with Legal, People, Finance, L&D, and other teams to ensure programs are effective, auditable, and scalable.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead global People Compliance initiatives across timelines, stakeholders, and execution
  2. Assess employment laws (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA, GDPR) and support policy updates
  3. Draft and maintain policies, standards, and internal guidance
  4. Support audits, risk assessments, and mitigation efforts
  5. Build and maintain compliant, accessible documentation frameworks

Skills

Required

  • 6–8+ years of experience in program management, compliance, People operations, or risk/audit
  • Experience in global or growing organizations
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international employment law and compliance practices
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs and operational complexity
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Analytical skills with experience in reporting, metrics, or dashboards
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to anticipate compliance challenges and develop practical solutions
  • Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information
