This role focuses on leading global ingredient sourcing strategy for Walmart's Food businesses, ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and sustainability. It involves developing category strategies, leading RFPs, negotiating supplier agreements, analyzing commodity markets, and advancing responsible sourcing initiatives. The role requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, with experience in food or commodity-driven ingredient markets.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute multi-year ingredient category strategies, such as proteins and dairy, focused on resiliency, total cost of ownership, and sustainability.
  2. Lead competitive RFPs and negotiate long-term and preferred supplier agreements that secure capacity and mitigate commercial risk.
  3. Partner cross-functionally to align sourcing strategies with business priorities and deliver measurable savings.
  4. Analyze commodity markets, pricing trends, and spend data to inform sourcing decisions and protect supply continuity.
  5. Advance regenerative and responsible sourcing initiatives across ingredient categories.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience within food or commodity-driven ingredient markets.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, RFP development, and long-term supplier strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting spend, market data, and cost drivers.
  • Experience driving stakeholder alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage complex sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced, global, matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 5 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field OR 6 years’ experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field and 2 years’ experience leading cross-functional teams/projects.
