Senior Manager, Product Design

Rubrik Rubrik · Enterprise · Palo Alto, CA · Product

This role is for a Senior Manager of Product Design at Rubrik, focusing on designing user experiences for enterprise AI products, including AI Agent Cloud, which involves agent deployments, guardrails, and fine-tuning. While the company is heavily involved in AI and the product has AI components, the core craft of this specific role is product design and leadership, not building AI models or systems directly.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build & Lead High-Performing Teams: Recruit, mentor, and retain a world-class team of designers. You’ll be responsible for their career growth, providing coaching on both craft and navigational "soft" skills to help them scale their impact.
  2. Define Strategic Vision: Partner with VP and Director-level leadership in Product Management and Engineering to define the long-term roadmap. You’ll transform high-level business goals into actionable design strategies that balance immediate needs with a "North Star" vision.
  3. Champion Design Excellence: Ensure all team deliverables meet the highest standards of craft, usability, and visual consistency across the product.
  4. Drive Operational Excellence: Establish and refine design processes that allow the team to move fast without breaking the user experience. You will oversee the end-to-end execution of complex product areas, ensuring a high bar for quality and consistency.
  5. Evangelize Design Culture: Act as a primary advocate for Design across Rubrik. You’ll bridge the gap between technical complexity (cybersecurity, AI, infra) and consumer-grade usability, ensuring that "Design" is seen as a business differentiator, not just a service.
