Senior Manager, Project Management – Financial Services Talent Strategy

Capital One Capital One · Banking · Plano, TX

This role is a Senior Manager of Project Management focused on Talent Strategy within the Financial Services division. The primary goal is to transition from manual talent planning to an AI-assisted, predictive talent system. Responsibilities include architecting roadmaps, consolidating tools, building predictive interfaces, leveraging AI for skill mapping and flight risk identification, and operationalizing talent review processes. While AI tools are leveraged, the core function is product/project management of a talent system, not direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect and execute the 12-to-24-month project plan to operationalize Capital One Auto’s talent pipeline, turning macro strategic goals into operational tools and dashboard realities.
  2. Audit existing, fragmented spreadsheets and localized tracking tools, stripping away manual bottlenecks to build a single, unified tracking engine.
  3. Partner with technical teams to build and scale user-friendly dashboards that allow leadership to track their top talent across 6, 12, and 18-month horizons—explicitly modeling future vacancies, cross-functional rotations, and automated succession pull-ups.
  4. Explore and deploy emerging AI-driven tools to map associate skillsets directly to business needs, establishing clean baselines to flag talent flight risks before they materialize.
  5. Manage the operational mechanics and data loops supporting our 2–3 annual leadership talent reviews, providing senior executives with the clear, quantified data they need to make real-time talent decisions.
