What you'd actually do

  1. Providing legal support to Agency Finance as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the transaction teams and other internal partners
  2. Partnering with Agency Finance business partners, Risk and Compliance to evaluate GSE and/or FHA program requirements and develop policies and procedures for compliance, monitoring and reporting
  3. Tracking and managing negotiation of sub-servicing documentation in connection with Freddie Mac securitizations and assist with interpretation of sub-servicing obligations for existing securitizations from an asset management and servicing perspective
  4. Engaging and overseeing outside legal counsel in an effective and efficient manner
  5. Partnering collaboratively with other internal counsel and business teams in the Commercial Bank and across the enterprise

Skills

Required

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
  • 4 years of experience as an attorney
  • 2 years of legal counsel experience focusing on multifamily agency finance transactions

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in multifamily agency finance transactions (working with Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac related transactions)
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate lending issues involving title insurance, surveys, zoning, and flood, casualty/liability insurance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to quickly understand the business needs and partner with the business

What the JD emphasized
