This role focuses on optimizing 1Password's visibility across traditional search engines, AI-powered answer ecosystems (GEO), and conversational search (AEO). The Senior Manager will develop and execute global organic discovery strategies, collaborate with various teams, and ensure the company is discoverable in emerging AI-driven search experiences.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute an end-to-end global SEO, GEO, and AEO strategy aligned with 1Password’s growth goals and Identity Security positioning.
  2. Lead international search strategy across multiple languages and countries, with a strong initial focus on North America and EMEA, balancing global scale with local nuance.
  3. Define how 1Password optimizes for generative search experiences, AI summaries, and answer engines — translating emerging platforms into practical, testable strategies.
  4. Own technical SEO fundamentals across a large, global site to optimize and improve on the following: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, performance, and hreflang strategy, etc.
  5. Define success metrics and reporting cadence for organic discovery performance.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in SEO or organic growth
  • Ownership of strategy at a global, multi-market scale
  • At least 2 years managing people
  • Demonstrated experience leading international and multilingual SEO
  • Strong understanding of B2C and B2B search behavior
  • Hands-on experience partnering with Web, Content, PMM, and Engineering teams
  • Deep curiosity and working knowledge of GEO, AEO, and AI-driven search trends
  • Exceptional program and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in security, identity, developer tools, or technical products
  • Prior ownership of SEO strategy supporting both PLG and SLG funnels
  • Experience influencing roadmap decisions without direct authority
  • Experience working in security industry
