Senior Manager, Data Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams within Visa's real-time event processing platform. The role focuses on driving cross-team effectiveness, coaching people, setting standards for reliability, governance, and execution, and shaping the platform's scale and operational practices within a global fintech environment. Responsibilities include portfolio and multi-team leadership, people and organizational development, delivery and operational excellence, technical governance, and cross-functional partnership.

  1. Lead an engineering area spanning multiple teams or services within the event platform.
  2. Drive cross-team prioritization: resolve dependency conflicts, remove structural bottlenecks, ensure operating consistency.
  3. Set area-level expectations for architecture governance, reliability, security posture, and execution quality.
  4. Strengthen succession depth — identify and develop future managers and tech leads.
  5. Own hiring plans across your area; calibrate hiring bars and ensure diverse pipeline.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
