Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture - Growth

This role is for a Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture within Temporal's Growth organization. The primary responsibility is to lead and scale a pre-sales technical team that helps prospects and customers evaluate Temporal's platform, understand its technical advantages, and expand adoption. The role requires a blend of technical credibility and leadership experience in open-source or developer-infrastructure companies, with a focus on sales strategy, process, and technical guidance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a team of Solutions Architects supporting Scale and Enterprise accounts.
  2. Partner closely with Sales leadership and Account Executives to build and execute comprehensive account strategies.
  3. Guide the team in positioning Temporal against competing technologies and architectural patterns with clarity and credibility.
  4. Work closely with Customer Success, Professional Services, and Developer Relations to ensure seamless post-sale transitions and ongoing expansion.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role
  • at least 2 years managing or leading a technical pre-sales team
  • Proven success in open-source, developer-tools, or infrastructure-software companies
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architectures
  • Proficiency in one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • familiarity with modern development and deployment tooling (CI/CD, containers, orchestration)
