Senior Manager, Technical Program Management - Catalog Intelligent Solutions

Walmart Walmart · Retail · Bentonville, AR

This role is for a Senior Manager, Technical Program Management focused on Catalog Intelligent Solutions at Walmart. The primary responsibility is to own and scale a shared capability that produces and delivers item intelligence outputs (classifications, action signals) for various business teams. The role involves defining standards, operating models, and measurement approaches to ensure consistent, explainable, and reliable outputs, driving adoption across workflows and managing stakeholder relationships. While the role leverages AI/ML outputs, it focuses on the productization and scaling of these capabilities rather than direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Be the front door for intelligence needs. Partner with business teams to understand their problem statements and translate use cases into clear requirements and success measures.
  2. Own the shared capability roadmap. Decide what the platform should support next (and what it should not), based on scale, reuse, and business value.
  3. Define the “contract” for outputs. Establish what each classification or action signal means, where it applies, what inputs it expects, and how edge cases should behave—so consumers get consistent results.
  4. Set the operating model for shared delivery. Create simple onboarding, templates, and repeatable patterns so teams can launch new signals without reinventing the approach each time.
  5. Put measurement on rails. Ensure every output has clear coverage and quality measures, plus a practical review approach for higher-risk cases—while domain teams remain accountable for accuracy and business impact.
