Senior Manager, Utility Partnerships - Walmart Energy

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage utility partnerships across multiple regions, including the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada, overseeing electric, gas, water, sewer, and propane services.
  2. Assess and provide guidance on utility rate reviews, regulations, and participate in regulatory proceedings to control costs.
  3. Track and monetize utility rate changes to support forecasting and regulatory efforts.
  4. Develop and execute utility products, services, and incentive procurement for energy efficiency and electric vehicle charging.
  5. Lead data acquisition initiatives and collaborate with utility leaders and trade organizations to advance operational and sustainability goals.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in energy, finance, business, or related area and 1 year’s experience in the utilities business OR 3 years' experience in energy, finance, business, utilities business or related area.
  • Extensive experience managing utility partnerships and navigating regulatory environments across multiple regions.
  • Strong expertise in financial and data analysis to support cost forecasting and rate review assessments.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic business plans and manage complex projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities to influence utility leaders and regulatory bodies.
  • Proficiency in driving operational improvements and leveraging utility incentives for energy efficiency and electric vehicle initiatives.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and fostering collaborative cross-functional relationships.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Energy, Finance, Business, or related area.
  • Prior work experience at the management level, interfacing externally with the utility industry and internally at senior executive levels.
