Senior Manufacturing Development Engineer - Automation

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Development Engineer (Automation) in Hsinchu, Taiwan, to provide end-to-end manufacturing assembly process solutions, identify and mitigate risks, develop assembly fixtures, improve workflow efficiency, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes. The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, 5+ years of experience in automation solutions, expertise in GD&T and tolerance analysis, and proficiency in data analysis tools like SPC and 6 sigma.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide end-to-end manufacturing assembly process solutions, including DFX (design for manufacturing, design for assembly, design for 6-sigma, design for testing, etc.).
  2. Identify, assess, and apply risk mitigation strategies, leading investigations of issues, identifying root causes of product failures, and driving corrective actions.
  3. Review contract manufacturer (CM) readiness, develop assembly fixtures and jigs, and establish clear assembly and manufacturing specifications through a step-by-step validation process.
  4. Gather feedback through DFx, yield issues, and repair center activities to improve workflow efficiency, analyze system assembly gaps, study cosmetic appearances, and identify improvement opportunities.
  5. Review automation options, suggest approaches for reducing waste and cutting costs, recommend technological solutions, product design improvements, and workspace layout changes to ensure high quality and efficiency.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of proven experience in developing and implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment
  • Validated mechanical/thermal architecture mentality
  • Expertise in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and 2D drawing
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data proficiently in SPC, 6 sigma, quality control, CpK, and PPAP
  • Knowledgeable in DFM, DFA, DFx, manufacturing cost breakdown
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Creo preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in English
