Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their EagleEye Manufacturing Team. This role focuses on rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, encompassing the entire manufacturing value chain from design for manufacturability to process optimization, vendor sourcing, and quality planning. The engineer will collaborate with design teams, develop tooling and fixturing, create process flows, write manufacturing documentation, and work hands-on with technicians to build prototype hardware. The role requires a strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI) for electromechanical products, experience in resource-constrained environments, and demonstrated leadership skills. While the company utilizes AI and computer vision in its products, this specific role is centered on the manufacturing engineering of hardware.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leverage expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) to seamlessly transition electromechanical products from prototype to high-volume production, optimizing manufacturability and supply chain scalability
  2. Collaborate with Design Engineering teams early in the development process to feedback Design For Manufacturability
  3. Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for a certain product or set of products
  4. Develop novel tooling and fixturing solutions for assembly and test
  5. Develop process flows, breaking down large, complex assemblies into a logical part flow of subassemblies and sub-processes

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examples
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.)
  • Genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning
  • U.S. Person status

Nice to have

  • Degree in a technical field (engineering, math, hard science)
  • Hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or other related control systems
  • Software scripting experience in any language
  • Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus
