Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Production, Sentry

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Irvine, CA · Manufacturing : Manufacturing Engineering : Manufacturing Engineering

This role is for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Anduril, a defense technology company. The primary focus is on transitioning electromechanical products from New Product Introduction (NPI) to high-volume production, optimizing manufacturing processes, supply chains, and automation. The role involves leading continuous improvement, managing projects for new equipment, developing process flows, and ensuring quality and scalability for complex hardware. While the company utilizes AI and advanced technologies like computer vision, this specific role is centered on the manufacturing and production of hardware, not the direct development or research of AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the transition of new electromechanical products from NPI to high-volume, sustained production, ensuring optimal design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), and establishing robust, scalable supply chain processes to meet production demands.
  2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing production lines and manufacturing processes, actively providing engineering support to resolve issues, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate product quality.
  3. Design, implement, and continuously optimize efficient manufacturing processes, taking ownership of significant portions of the manufacturing value chain to maximize throughput, reduce costs, and ensure consistent high-quality output for complex products.
  4. Lead and manage projects for the successful installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing systems and equipment, clearly communicating their impact on production capabilities, efficiency, and capacity to stakeholders.
  5. Proactively identify and implement automation solutions and integrated workflows to significantly streamline manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, repeatability, and overall production capacity.
