Senior Manufacturing Support - Planner - 1st Shift

This role supports Manufacturing Engineers and assembly on the plant floor by designing and documenting layouts, tooling, fixtures, handling systems, safety, and ergonomics. It involves troubleshooting IPV process, equipment, and software, creating tool lists, developing work orders with processing steps, and updating assembly procedures. The role also requires using CAD systems for layouts and material locations, and adhering to Caterpillar Production System principles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Troubleshoot IPV process, equipment, software and related machine issues.
  2. Create tool lists for assembly.
  3. Provide tooling support to Compact Track Loaders (CTL) Assembly Line as needed.
  4. Develop final work orders that detail processing steps and procedures, identified component parts, specifies technical aspects of part installation or application and identifies tooling or fixtures required for production.
  5. Performs changes and updates to standard work schedules and other relevant assembly procedures based on Engineering/Assembly/Quality input.

  • At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 1 year of experience in Project Management
  • Expert level of proficiency in recognizing or describing the mechanical functions and specifications of products and/or parts.
  • Expert level of proficiency working with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and geometrics
  • A basic understanding of AutoCAD
  • 2 or 4 yr. technical degree (i.e. Mfg. Technology, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Operations/Industrial Planning Experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong math background Advanced Computer and Caterpillar Systems Knowledge
