Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer

Oura Oura · Consumer · San Francisco, CA +1 · Supply Chain

Oura is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the end-to-end test strategy, development, and deployment of production test solutions for Oura products. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams and global contract manufacturers to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-quality manufacturing test processes. The engineer will own the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing test solutions across the full product lifecycle, from concept through mass production, serving as a technical lead for test architecture, software development, data analysis, and quality improvements. The position requires strong hands-on engineering capability, systems-level thinking, and effective collaboration across hardware, firmware, operations, quality, and external manufacturing partners.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure products are designed for robust, scalable, and cost-effective testing.
  2. Own test engineering across all phases: POC/Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT, ramp, and mass production
  3. Architect, design, and deploy manufacturing test stations and processes
  4. Apply statistical tools such as GR&R, SPC, Cp/Cpk, correlation analysis, and DOE
  5. Lead failure analysis efforts across test stations, products, and manufacturing processes

  • Hands-on experience developing manufacturing test software in Python, C, C++, Rust
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience supporting development builds and mass production with global manufacturing partners
  • Experience working with wearables, consumer electronics, sensors, or embedded systems
  • Strong background in test station qualification and correlation (calibration, GR&R, Cp/Cpk, DOE)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, systems, quality, and operations teams

Nice to have

  • Willingness to travel 30–50% across domestic and international factory sites
  • Familiarity with optical, RF, or semiconductor-based test methodologies
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a global, fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across cultures and time zones
