Senior Mechanical Engineer, Surveillance Tower

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Irvine, CA · AFS : Counter Intrusion Engineering

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop ruggedized hardware for surveillance towers. The role involves owning hardware design from concept to production, ensuring reliability in harsh environments, and scaling designs for full-rate production. Experience with electromechanical systems, rapid prototyping, and production processes is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own ruggedized hardware design from concept generation to production realization under condensed timelines.
  2. Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision.
  3. Lead design reviews, run analysis, and define and execute hardware test plans to ensure product reliability in many of the harshest environments on earth.
  4. Build prototypes of complex electromechanical systems.
  5. Coordinate across Anduril internal departments to build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful design concepts into production.
