Senior Opto-mechanical Failure Analysis Engineer

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Yokneam, Israel

Senior Opto-Mechanical Failure Analysis Engineer to join the mechanical engineering department for high-performance Telecommunication solutions. Responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary investigations, driving debug and root cause analysis, supporting production excursions, and developing failure analysis methodologies. Requires B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical product development, strong understanding of failure analysis and reliability principles, and hands-on experience with analytical tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead multidisciplinary investigations for advanced opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical products, including PCB/PCBA assemblies and complex system integrations.
  2. Drive debug activities, perform hands-on root cause analysis on field returns, reliability failures, manufacturing defects, and system-level issues using analytical and laboratory techniques.
  3. Join and lead task forces to investigate and support production excursions, failure analysis and reliability issues
  4. Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Signal Integrity, Thermal, Reliability, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to identify corrective and preventive actions.
  5. Perform and drive mechanical simulations of components and assemblies to support failure analysis, root cause investigations, and product design optimization
