This role is a Senior Partner Engineer focused on the technical alliance between Sigma Computing and Databricks. The primary responsibilities include serving as a technical advisor, enabling sales and solutions, managing technical engagements, and driving enablement for field teams to foster joint customer success and revenue growth. The role requires deep knowledge of both Sigma and Databricks platforms, strong technical background in data analytics, and experience in customer-facing or partner-focused roles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the primary technical leader and advocate for the Sigma Computing/Databricks strategic alliance.
  2. Cultivate and maintain robust technical relationships with key personnel at Databricks, including Product Management, Partner Leadership, Solution Engineering, and Sales teams, to ensure strategic alignment, drive co-innovation, and facilitate joint account mapping.
  3. Proactively collaborate with Sigma's GTM teams to identify, qualify, and technically support strategic joint customer opportunities.
  4. Act as the internal authority on the Databricks platform, providing expert technical guidance and training to Sigma's Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering teams on best practices for leveraging Databricks features in conjunction with Sigma.
  5. Lead the technical creation of joint thought-leadership content, including webinars, blogs, solution briefs, demo vignettes, and presentations for major industry events (e.g., Data and AI Summit, Data and AI World Tours).

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a highly technical customer-facing or partner-focused role
  • Deep and current hands-on experience with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform
  • Strong technical background in data analytics, data warehousing, business intelligence, and cloud data platforms
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial technical relationships with key stakeholders at major partner organizations
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
