This role is for a Senior Partner Specialist at MongoDB, focusing on growing business through strategic partnerships with Cloud and System Integrators (SI) in the Japan market. The specialist will develop and execute partner strategies, identify new revenue opportunities, and work with sales teams to accelerate deals and expand partner capabilities. The role requires extensive experience in quota-carrying sales through various partner channels, strong communication skills in Japanese and English, and strategic thinking to build and sustain differentiated partnerships. While MongoDB's platform supports AI initiatives, this specific role is centered on sales and business development through partners, not direct AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute strategic Cloud (i.e., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and SI Partner strategy across the Japan market, including Local SIs and/or Global SIs (i.e., NTT, Fujitsu, NEC, CTC, EY, PwC, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc.)
  2. Recruit and develop effective partner relationships, resulting in growth opportunities and mutual beneficial partnerships.
  3. Proactively prospect, identify, qualify and develop a sales pipeline through Cloud, Local or Global System Integrators and ISV Partners
  4. Work with our Enterprise Sales team to close business to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual bookings objectives
  5. Lead engagement of Cloud and strategic SI Partners to develop their sales, pre-sales and delivery capabilities in line with our strategy of amplifying partners with capabilities and certifications to deliver for their customers.

Skills

Required

  • 12+ years of quota-carrying experience generating pipeline and selling through Cloud Partners(CSPs), Global/Local System Integrators(SIs) and ISVs in a heavy sales matrix model
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the business value of complex enterprise technology
  • A track record of overachievement and hitting sales targets.
  • Skills in building business champions and running a complex sales process
  • Drive and a competitive nature; possess a strong desire to be successful
  • Skills in managing time and resources; sound approach to qualifying opportunities
  • Examples of creating and sustaining differentiated partner relationships
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, blending consulting

Nice to have

  • Experience with sales methodology training such as MEDDIC, SPIN, Challenger Sales
  • Understanding and affinity for databases, developer ecosystems, and open-source technologies
