Senior Payroll Analyst (4 Pm – 1 Am Ist Shift)

This role is for a Senior Payroll Analyst at Glean, an AI company focused on a Work AI platform. The analyst will be responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, compliance, audits, and process improvements for US and CA employees. The role requires strong knowledge of US payroll regulations and experience with enterprise payroll systems. While the company is AI-focused, this specific role is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead full‑cycle bi‑monthly payroll processing for multi‑state US employees and CA employees, ensuring accuracy for all pay types including regular, overtime, bonuses, commissions, retro payouts, and one‑time transactions
  2. Conduct rigorous pre‑ and post‑payroll audits to verify pay, taxes, deductions, and compliance prior to disbursement.
  3. Reconcile payroll results with HRIS data and the general ledger, ensuring alignment with accounting and finance requirements.
  4. Maintain deep knowledge of US payroll compliance requirements including federal, state, and local tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and reporting obligations.
  5. Prepare and support payroll tax filings, compliance reports, and audits, and assist with remediation of tax notices and discrepancies.

  • Strong understanding of US payroll regulations (FLSA, 401k, Garnishment, payroll related benefits deductions, IRS guidelines, multi-state tax compliance)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with integrity

  • Payroll certification such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification)
