Senior Payroll Specialist for APAC at Netflix, managing payroll operations for Japan and supporting Australia, while overseeing outsourced services for the rest of the region. What you'd actually do

  1. End-to-end payroll management for a portfolio of APAC countries, with a focus on Japan payroll, including data validation, payroll submission, reconciliation, and final approval
  2. Ensure compliance with local payroll legislation and statutory requirements, especially in Australia, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  3. Partner with internal teams such as Finance, HR, and Employee Services and external vendors to coordinate payroll processing, tax filing, and statutory payments across multiple entities
  4. Address payroll queries and provide support to employees, ensuring prompt resolution via Zendesk or direct communication
  5. Contribute to month-end and year-end payroll close processes, ensuring reconciliations, reporting, and statutory filings are completed on time

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • strong expertise in Japan and Australian payroll (end-to-end processing)
  • Experience with in-house payroll systems, preferably using Workday Payroll or a similar payroll/HRIS platform and third-party vendors such as SAP, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of APAC payroll legislation and statutory compliance, with expertise in Australia being essential
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Solid skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel; advanced skills in reporting and reconciliation

  • Familiarity with other APAC countries is a plus
