This role focuses on the design and layout of III-V chips for lidar systems in self-driving technology. The engineer will manage foundry relations, automate data analysis using Python and JMP, and drive design iterations based on test data. Collaboration with other teams is also a key responsibility.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own III-V Layouts: Lead the design and layout of high-power active devices, specifically delivering reviewable GDS for SOA reticles.
  2. Manage Foundry Relations: Act as the primary technical interface with foundries to execute mask delivery and track critical fabrication milestones.
  3. Automate Data Analysis: Develop Python-based software and JMP workflows to analyze DFB and SOA test results.
  4. Drive Design Iterations: Function as the "Owner" for SOA component iterations, correlating design changes to empirical test data.
  5. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Test, Packaging, and Reliability teams to integrate their feedback into design decisions.
