Microsoft is seeking a Senior Physical Design Engineer to join their Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering (CSME) team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end physical design implementation of state-of-the-art computer chips, specifically mentioning Azure Cobalt. The engineer will coordinate with various teams, influence design tools and methodologies, and optimize designs for power, performance, and area. The role requires experience in synthesis, RTL/DFT feedback, timing constraints, and RTL to GDS implementation, with a focus on production flagship projects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Experience and knowledge on Synthesis, RTL / DFT feedback , Timing Constraints.
  2. Responsible for RTL to GDS implementation in Physical Design domain for production flagship projects.
  3. Coordinate with CAD, RTL/Design teams/DFT, Architecture team, Power & Performance team, Technology team & other internal/external partners.
  4. Influence design tools, flows, and methodologies in construction, signoff, and optimization through a data-driven approach.
  5. Demonstrate technical expertise across various domains of Physical Design & Timing Signoff.
