This role is for a Senior Planner Buyer in the Supply Chain Planning function, specifically Production Planning & Scheduling, at Johnson & Johnson. The primary responsibility is to ensure direct or indirect materials are ordered and in stock to meet manufacturing requirements while maintaining acceptable inventory levels, coordinating material planning and purchasing for uninterrupted production and timely customer delivery. The role involves collecting material requirements, managing inventory investment, analyzing buying trends, compiling procurement data, preparing vendor orders, checking deliveries, and supporting supplier evaluation and S&OP. Experience in a regulated environment (Pharma/Medical Devices) is preferred, and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required, along with proficiency in ERP systems and bilingualism (English/Spanish).

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensures direct or indirect materials are ordered and in stock to meet quality and manufacturing requirements while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
  2. It is primarily responsible for the effective coordination of the material planning and purchasing in support of production to ensure uninterrupted operation and timely delivery to customers of finished products.
  3. Collects information regarding raw material, component and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
  4. Manages and/or maintains raw material inventory investment according to inventory entitlement models and drives improvement opportunities.
  5. Reviews and analyses statistical data to determine buying trends/volumes and to establish price objectives and/or opportunities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years of supply chain, operations, logistics or relevant experience
  • Experience in finished goods or raw material buying/planning
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish, read, write, and speak)
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with complex planning tools
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to write reports, memos, and technical procedures
