Senior Platform Architect at DocuSign responsible for defining and evolving the architecture of Salesforce and AWS as core enterprise platforms. The role involves designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems, shaping system boundaries, integration patterns, and engineering standards, and driving platform scalability, governance, and modernization. This is an individual contributor role focused on cross-platform architecture spanning Salesforce and cloud-native services.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and evolve the target architecture for Salesforce within a multi-system enterprise ecosystem, ensuring alignment across upstream and downstream platforms
  2. Establish architectural principles, design standards, and reference patterns across teams
  3. Lead design of complex, cross-system solutions spanning Salesforce and AWS, ensuring scalable and maintainable architectures
  4. Define API-first and event-driven architectures across Salesforce, AWS services, and internal platforms
  5. Architect cloud-native services in AWS (e.g., microservices, serverless functions, event-driven systems) that extend and complement Salesforce capabilities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience designing and building enterprise-scale systems
  • Significant experience with Salesforce (Apex, APIs, LWC)
  • Significant experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale, distributed systems across Salesforce and AWS
  • Strong expertise in API design, event-driven architecture, and system integration patterns
  • Experience with performance optimization, scalability planning, and large data volumes
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, data model, and limits
  • Experience working in large enterprises
