This role focuses on the post-silicon validation of custom networking silicon for Google's direct-to-consumer products and cloud infrastructure. The engineer will develop test plans, write and execute tests in Python or C/C++, and lead bring-up, troubleshooting, and debug efforts on silicon to ensure quality and functionality.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct in-depth analysis into the architecture and microarchitecture of complex hardware units and features, such as packet processing pipelines and advanced networking capabilities.
  2. Develop comprehensive post-silicon validation test plans based on a thorough understanding of the design and specifications.
  3. Write, execute, and debug validation tests using Python or C/C++, running on Pre-Silicon (Pre-Si) emulation platforms and primarily on the silicon.
  4. Lead the bring-up, troubleshooting, and debug efforts on silicon, identifying root causes of hardware and software issues.
  5. Contribute to the development of test infrastructure and methodologies to improve validation efficiency and coverage.
