Senior Power and Performance Architect, Annapurna Labs, Machine Learning Hardware

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · Cupertino, CA · Hardware Development

This role focuses on the power and performance architecture for ML accelerators within Amazon's data centers. The Senior Power Architect will design and optimize power solutions, DVFS flows, and power management algorithms for these hardware components, working closely with cross-functional teams. While the hardware is for ML accelerators, the core craft of the role is power and performance engineering, not direct ML model development or deployment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and implement comprehensive power architecture solutions for ML accelerator platforms
  2. Develop and optimize DVFS (Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling) flows and power control schemes
  3. Create and validate power management algorithms for various operating conditions
  4. Lead peak power management initiatives and develop solutions for di/dt handling
  5. Analyze and optimize workloads for optimal power-performance trade-offs
