Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Electrical to lead lab operations engineering for Test & Evaluation systems. The role involves integrating aircraft systems into a lab environment, developing lab requirements and procedures, executing integration activities, and evaluating mission systems functionality. Requires a strong technical background, understanding of military aircraft, and experience in lab integration with modern software-intensive mission systems architecture. The position requires a Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead test events ranging from developmental to formal testing
  2. Effectively assign roles and responsibilities to team members by clearly communicating test priorities and expectations
  3. Establish and maintain standards of test conduct and rigor
  4. Effectively manage lab configuration through detailed documentation
  5. Accurately communicate lab and test status to leadership via written and oral means

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience
  • active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • experience working as an engineer in a system test lab environment
  • understanding of mission systems to include RF and satellite communications, message processing, mission systems architecture, air vehicle systems, simulation environments, and/or networking.

Nice to have

  • Current, active Top Secret clearance
  • Security+ CE or ability to obtain
  • Peer leadership and/or supplier management experience
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending schematic diagrams
  • Experienced using Test Equipment, such as digital multimeters, O-scopes, etc.
  • Experienced with Electronic Principles (MIL-STD-1553, RS-232 & 422, ARINC 429, Ethernet & fiber)
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment
  • Experience creating, editing and executing installation and checkout (IACO) or Acceptance Test procedures (ATP)
