Senior Principal System Administrator (onsite)

Senior System Administrator responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software infrastructure for classified programs in a multi-platform Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. Requires active security clearance and experience with Active Directory, VMware, NetApp, and server architecture.

What you'd actually do

  1. Server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.
  2. Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  3. Act as a senior technical resource for the team by informally directing day-to-day DT activities, resolving complex technical challenges, and mentoring personnel in support of operational excellence.
  4. Prioritize and assign tickets to lower-level team members, ensuring timely resolution and effective workload distribution.
  5. Participate in meetings with customers, providing technical guidance and best practice to ensure successful outcomes.

Skills

Required

  • University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
  • Active Directory

  • Server architecture and troubleshooting methods
