What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the creator and keeper of system development plans, processes, and technical vision throughout the system development lifecycle
  2. Lead the team in creating and maintaining system designs, technical performance measures, interface definitions, requirements, analyses, trade studies, and other documentation in an agile environment
  3. Present technical solutions, progress, and findings to leadership and customers during design reviews and technical meetings
  4. Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members, engineering leadership, program management, and customers
  5. Plan, manage, and communicate project cost, schedule, and risk

Skills

Required

  • STEM degree or equivalent experience
  • US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret or above security clearance
  • Systems development process experience
  • Decision-making impacting cost, schedule, and technical performance

Nice to have

  • Customer-facing role experience
  • Subject Matter Expert in military networking, communication, navigation, cybersecurity, or encryption systems or avionics data buses
  • Manufacturing and production of complex avionics experience
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
  • Technical proposal development and bid/pursuit leadership experience
  • Scaled Agile environment experience using Jira
  • Familiarity with US export regulations (ITAR/EAR)
  • DOORS requirements experience
  • Model-Based Design (MBD)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools experience
  • Current or recent security clearance

What the JD emphasized
