Senior Principal Technical Product Owner

This role is for a Senior Principal Technical Product Owner at Oracle, focusing on the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of IaaS and PaaS deployment models and services on OCI, specifically related to data sovereignty in the European Union. The candidate will drive product roadmaps, define scope, mitigate risks, and translate customer needs into cloud products, while also mentoring peers and acting as a role model for product ownership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Knowledgeable of sovereign regulatory practices and trends, with a focus in the European Union.
  2. Driving the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of IaaS PaaS and SaaS deployment models and services on OCI specifically focused on sovereignty.
  3. Working with cross-functional colleagues and technical advisors to identify and analyze sovereignty trends and data that influences OCI’s strategic sovereign cloud approach.
  4. Defining critical product scope and plans and driving cross-Oracle execution.
  5. Collaborating across all Go To Market initiatives creating and approving content.

Skills

Required

  • 8-10 years of product ownership or related experience.
  • Knowledge of data sovereignty policy and laws in the European Union and its member states.
  • Proven ability to plan and drive successful releases of entire products that contain significant scope.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with customers and data to develop and influence product roadmap.
  • Possesses executive presentation skills.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risks across a set of systems, particularly at the intersection of business and engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and development/engineering staff at all levels including the executive level.
  • Knowledge and experience of using enterprise AI tools to deliver business efficiencies.
  • Ability to operate fully independently and act as leader on team who establishes and shares best practices and mentors peers to develop team culture.
  • Ability to take ownership amid ambiguity and uncertainty to drive results in cross-organizational environments.

  • Thorough understanding of public cloud infrastructure IaaS & PaaS services, such as Compute, Storage, Identity, and Networking.

  • Experience using agile development practices and associated tooling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of some of our competitor’s (AWS, Azure, or GCP) IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services.

  • Translating customer sovereignty needs into cloud products and services.
  • Driving product roadmaps based on metrics and data analysis and mitigating critical product risks.
  • Improving the Product & Industries team by serving as a role model for sovereign product ownership, strategic vision, mentoring, and team culture.
