Key job responsibilities Amazon’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to drive procurement standardization, governance enhancement, and process improvement across APAC Region. This role is critical to establishing consistent procurement practices, strengthening compliance frameworks, and leading transformative initiatives that optimize how Amazon procures goods and services in the APAC region. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of strategic procurement leadership and operational excellence, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across APAC countries to elevate procurement capabilities and deliver measurable business impact.
- Procurement Standardization & Governance Design, implement, and continuously refine procurement standards, policies, and operating procedures for APAC, ensuring alignment with GPO global frameworks. Establish governance mechanisms that drive consistency in sourcing decisions, vendor management, and contract execution across all procurement categories. Develop and maintain compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements, conducting periodic assessments to identify gaps and implementing corrective actions. Lead the creation of standardized templates, decision matrices, and approval workflows that reduce variability and increase auditability in procurement activities.
- Process Improvement & Optimization Identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency, reduce cycle times, and deliver cost savings across APAC. Leverage data analytics, cost engineering methodologies, and benchmarking to diagnose process bottlenecks and develop evidence-based solutions. Drive the adoption and localization of global procurement tools and systems, collaborating with digital technology teams to ensure seamless integration with existing APAC workflows. Manage end-to-end project execution for improvement initiatives, from opportunity identification through implementation and benefits realization, ensuring sustainable outcomes that scale across the organization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Partner with buyer teams, Finance, Engineering, and Operations departments across APAC countries to align procurement strategies with business objectives and secure buy-in for standardization and improvement initiatives. Report regularly to stakeholders—including GPO management, APAC leadership, —in both Japanese and English, through written documentation and verbal presentations, to maintain visibility and secure appropriate support. Navigate complex organizational dynamics under uncertain and ambiguous conditions, employing stakeholder management and risk management skills to build consensus and drive execution. Travel internationally as needed for direct engagement with APAC counterparts, with primary destinations including India,Australia and NA. - プロセス改善・最適化 APAC地域全体の調達効率向上、リードタイム短縮、コスト削減に寄与するプロセス改善イニシアチブを特定、優先順位付け、実行する。データ分析、コストエンジニアリング手法、ベンチマーキングを活用してプロセス上のボトルネックを診断し、エビデンスに基づいたソリューションを開発する。グローバル調達ツールおよびシステムの導入・ローカライズを推進し、デジタルテクノロジーチームと連携して既存のAPAC各国のワークフローとのシームレスな統合を実現する。機会の特定から導入、効果実現までの改善イニシアチブのエンドツーエンドのプロジェクト実行を管理し、組織全体にスケール可能な持続的成果を確保する。
- クロスファンクショナル連携・ステークホルダーマネジメント APAC各国のバイヤーチーム、ファイナンス部門、エンジニアリング部門、オペレーション部門と連携し、調達戦略を事業目標と整合させ、標準化・改善イニシアチブに対する合意を形成する。GPOマネジメント層、APACリーダーシップ、ステークホルダーに対し、日本語・英語両言語で書面および口頭による定期的な報告を行い、プロジェクトの可視性を高め適切な支援を得る。不安定・不確実・複雑・曖昧な状況下でもステークホルダーマネジメントとリスクマネジメントのスキルを駆使し、合意形成と実行を推進する。プロジェクト推進に必要と判断する場合は海外出張を行い、APACメンバーとの直接的なミーティングやワークショップを実施する（主な出張先：インド、オーストラリア、アメリカ）。

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experience
- Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of ERP and procurement tools, including Oracle, Coupa and Ariba
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement
- Experience with tools/systems to analyze data including Excel, Access, SQL or other data management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in people management
- Experience working cross-functionally and across regions
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- CIPS qualification
