Senior Product Designer

Tailscale Tailscale · Enterprise · Remote · Design

Senior Product Designer for Tailscale, focusing on the user experience for IT administrators and DevOps engineers managing networks. The role involves discovery, design, and delivery across GUI and CLI, with an emphasis on understanding technical subject matter and collaborating closely with engineers and PMs. The designer will use AI tools to enhance their workflow and explore AI-assisted experiences within technical products.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own discovery and design on problems that don't always come with a clear brief, from early framing through delivery and QA.
  2. Work closely with engineers and PMs to move from a fuzzy problem to something well-reasoned and shippable.
  3. Deliver across surfaces, GUI and CLI alike, and stay engaged through implementation, not just handoff.
  4. Treat feedback as part of the work, not a checkpoint. Seek it out from peers, your team, and your manager, and use it to make the work better.
  5. Take initiative in how you collaborate and push for clarity, even on projects you're not leading.
