Senior Product Designer

This role is for a Senior Product Designer within the Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team at Microsoft. The team works directly with customers to leverage the latest technologies, including AI, to solve their toughest challenges by jointly developing cloud-based solutions. The designer will define product needs, ideate solutions, create design concepts, and optimize user experience. They will collaborate with engineers, program managers, and data scientists, working side-by-side with strategic customers to build innovative solutions and contribute to open-source projects. The role involves creating wireframes, journey maps, interaction models, and communicating product stories.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will interact with Engineering and perform QAs to ensure quality while showing the ability to challenge design limitations. You’ll also produce visual designs and mentor others on their creation.
  2. You will create wireframes, journey maps, and other elements to support interaction design. You’ll also begin to lead product UX improvements by creating interaction models while acting as a liaison between users and products.
  3. You will communicate with cross-disciplinary teams across all stages of design and development. You will also tell a compelling, convincing product story to a specific audience.
  4. You will work with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define product features. You’ll collaborate with your team to deliver product design results while also providing guidance to product designers.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
  • Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
  • equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
