Senior Product Designer - New Bets

DoorDash DoorDash · Consumer · San Francisco, CA · 321 Product Design

Senior Product Designer for DoorDash's New Bets team, focusing on exploring and shaping new dining experiences beyond delivery. The role involves defining new customer experiences, owning projects from concept to launch, and using AI tools to accelerate prototyping and iteration. Requires strong collaboration with engineering and product management, and a background in consumer tech or complex marketplaces.

What you'd actually do

  1. Spot problems worth solving and make the case for them — write a clear brief, frame the customer needs alongside the business opportunity, and get it on your team's roadmap.
  2. Own projects from first concept to shipped product — design the flows, write the copy, and work with engineering to launch, rather than handing off a spec and moving on.
  3. Design with the system and extend when needed, and leave clear documentation so the team can build on what you've made.
  4. Use AI tools to get from idea to working prototype fast, then iterate in code instead of static mocks. Partner with engineers to move your work into production — not just a pitch deck.
  5. Build real relationships with your PM, engineering, and data partners by showing up with evidence and shipped work, not just opinions. Help junior designers grow their craft while keeping your own bar high.
