Senior Product Designer, Tactical Reconnaissance & Strike

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA, Seattle, WA +1 · Software : Software Platform

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Senior Product Designer for their Tactical Reconnaissance & Strike organization. The role involves owning mobile-first and web-based product experiences for tactical operations, leading user discovery and validation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The designer will shape how product design integrates with engineering and product management, and contribute to the design systems. The role requires strong visual and interaction design skills, systems thinking, and the ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own mobile-first product experiences for tactical operations alongside web-based workflows from discovery to delivery – leveraging established [tactical] mobile conventions as a foundation while identifying opportunities to redefine interaction patterns based on validated user needs.
  2. Lead discovery and validation through direct engagement with end users in operational contexts and collaborative workshops with stakeholders; synthesize findings into design decisions that demonstrably improve mission-critical workflows in a fast-paced environment where speed to deployment is essential.
  3. Proactively identify design opportunities with minimal direction, defining what needs to be designed and driving work forward autonomously – balancing near-term delivery needs with system-level thinking across interconnected workflows.
  4. Shape how product design integrates with engineering & product management through close collaboration, iterative prototyping, and hands-on implementation guidance.
  5. Ensure your work is easy to follow through strong narrative skills, journey maps, user workflows, high fidelity mockups, and detailed documentation rigor.
